Acrostic Poem

昨日收到一首Acrostic Poem.

英文的Acrostic Poem是指詩中每一行的第一個、或最後一個字母,能組合成一個名字、一個人物,或任何物件,而這個組合而成的字也就是這首詩的名稱。

Acrostic Poem 不需押韻,行數也沒有規定。每一行的字數多少不拘,甚至可以祇得一個字。

2007年初次接觸Acrostic Poem,覺得非常有趣,曾試寫了首,以下是其中兩首:

ORANGE
Of taste sweet or sour
Relieves thirst
And refreshes the body
Natural food to fight against diseases
Gives us Vitamin C
Eat one daily to keep healthy

VOLCANO
Violently it erupts
Outburst originated deep down the crust
Lava streams emerge from below
Carry everything away as they flow
Ashes darken the sky
Not able to see the sun for a long time
Often destroy land miles wide

記得在網上讀過一首名為HOMEWORKAcrostic Poem,作者是外國一位小學生短短825個字,道出小朋友對HOMEWORK的心聲。嘗試另寫一首,但絞盡腦汁仍未能成篇。佩服!
       
      HOMEWORK
Hard to do and sometimes
Overwheming,
My teacher gives us homework
Every single day!
Writing for hours
Or
Reading for hours.
Kids need a break!

昨日收到的Acrostic Poem來自一個十歲、居於美國的男孩子。

GREATGRANDMA
這首詩是為了悼念他哪位剛返回天鄉的外曾祖母而寫的。
願她老人家安息!
